I’m fascinated by how the left equates Christians and Conservatives, and by the caricatured view they have of Christians. They keep saying the things they do, based on this stereotype of Christians, and they really have no idea how silly they sound.
And ignorant.
And offensive.
Even people of my parents’ generation seem to have forgotten TV shows like Little House on the Prairie, and The Waltons. These shows portrayed people whose CHRISTIAN FAITH was the cornerstone of their lives. Were they wackos? But these shows were wildly popular in their day. What has changed in 30 years? We know the answer, but the left will never admit it.
What’s really disturbing is how they are able to justify rewriting history, falsifying Thomas Jefferson quotes, and just continue to perpetuate the out and out LIES about both him and Palin.
Sarah Palin said this in her church, and ignited a firestorm of controversy against her on the left.
"I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that,"
The first such claim I have seen was basically:
Palin told a church group that god wanted a pipeline in Alaska, and that’s absurd.
Sarah Palin did not say that GOD WANTS that pipeline.
She told a church congregation to pray for it. And actually, what Palin SAID, is PRAY THAT God's will be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built.
They call THAT extremism!
After I cited what Palin ACTUALLY said, the next step back in retreat was:
She said God wants people and companies to come together to build a pipeline, and that’s ridiculous.
Nothing in this says that GOD WANTS a pipeline, NOR THAT he wants people and companies to come together to build the pipeline.
It doesn’t matter how many different ways you break this down or spell it out to people who hate Sarah Palin and who hate Christianity in general, they simply hear what they WANT to hear.
The left zooms in one part of a Sarah Palin statement in her church, that sometimes has been falsified, and sometimes not—and they never admit they were wrong. They might take a step backward in retreat as you smash their lies and false beliefs with reality, facts, and logic. But later they will always deny that concession. Like cockroaches who scatter before the light, once you move onto other things, they return to their previously held ground.
I make my living as a master of the written word (and my ability to horsewhip the chips of semiconductor material and the bits and bytes of various software applications to do what I want, for the most part). I also have a fairly diverse background and I have learned the technical language of a number of disciplines. Each discipline I have worked in has its own jargon in which outsiders are pretty much illiterate.
That is another concept being ignored here and being basically sodomized by the Left—Lingo. THEY PRESUME TO KNOW AND TO UNDERSTAND THE LINGO OF THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH THAT THEY SO DESPISE.
This is no less so for left wing journalists than for transplanted curmudgeons who try to read what they want into Christian prayers, speeches, doctrine, etc.
They should stick to what they know.
I'll reserve the cheap shot I could take here—that wouldn’t be very Christian of me. Suffice to say what they know AIN'T analysis/interpretation/criticism of Christian doctrine/preaching/beliefs/prayer.
THAT'S what's absurd, and I reserve the right to be annoyed by this incessant Left wing onslaught of DELIBERATE misquoting and misinterpreting Christians by people who, even if they had HONEST intentions, ALSO don’t know what they are talking about. They do it for the sole purpose of demonizing the faith whose values made this country great, and ridiculing its believers to discredit them.
But that is NOT extremism.
…even as they call Conservatives and Republicans LIARS on a daily basis.
And that is ALSO NOT extremism.
